Ever since moving back down to the valley I’ve been questioning whether it was a good idea. My primary motivation was to be closer to my 2 young brothers (let’s call them Merry & Pippin). It was difficult to see them much until recently, but now that I can I’m more and more sure I made the right decision. I received a stunning confirmation of this last week when Merry asked if he could borrow my copy of The Lord of the Rings. I couldn’t have been more impressed, so I went ahead and bought him his own copy, which I gave him today. I can only hope he manages to finish it before he destroys it somehow (Merry & Pippin are a bit short on manners; I came home today covered in water and bruises).
